Have you tried to go to a party without conforming on its dress code? Or have you gone to answer a quiz without even preparing for it?

Not preparing/conforming is costly. It never became pleasant to us. Whenever we do things that shouldn't be done, we begin to worry, we become confused, and we just want to go pass through the situation.

Next question: Do you go on with your faith without asking for His presence?

There is a certain man in the Bible who asked God of his Presence. He is certain that without God's presence, he will not pursue the mission God has given him.

14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

15 Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. 16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” (Exodus 33:14-15)

Moses needs assurance. He needs to make sure that God is the one who is moving on his life. He needs to check if God is really the center of whatever Moses was entrusted to do.

Sometimes we tend to precede God when we need to make decisions. As a follower of Christ, we should always check if we are on the right track with God.

Take note of this: "What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?"

We are distinguished. We have a different name plate. We have Jesus in our lives. That's what makes us very different to those we are trying to reach out. If we really want to be the salt and light, we should distinguish ourselves from others. You are a Christian. You are in Christ.

How are we distinguished?

17 And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” (Exodus 33:17)

It is not because of our good deeds. It is not because we know His Name. It is because He loves us that we deserve to be called as His sons and daughters. It is because He knows every letter composing your name that we are distinguished as His followers.

Lastly, what kind of response should we express when we know that we have His Presence? Should it be, "Yes Lord, i will seek You tomorrow, or next week/month/year?"

God doesn't want that answer. He wants this answer:

"18 Then Moses said, 'Now show me your glory.'"(Exodus 33:18)

NOW. He wants you to act now! He wants you to ask for His Presence not later, but now. If there is a best time to act, to pray, to intercede, it is NOW.

Do not worry. He knows you by name. And His presence will always be with you in the journey He had set for you. :)
